It's true that the Nintendo Classic Mini has been hacked. With just 30 pre-installed games, hackers wanted to get more games for the classic console system. And, it seems like Nintendo was prepared to face such a situation as the company has hidden a secret message for the hackers inside the system.
The message was coded inside the system by a programmer who is codenamed as "The Hanafuda Captain." The name "Hanafuda" is a tribute to Nintendo's Hanafuda cards which were sold before the company started manufacturing video game consoles.
The message goes something like this:
"This is the Hanafuda Captain speaking. Launching emulation in 3...2...1. Many efforts, tears and countless hours have been put into this jewel. So, please keep this place tidied up and don't break everything! Cheers, the Hanafuda Captain."
A Twitter user named bakueikozo tweeted this message on his account for the other users to see.
Avoid NES Classic Mini Hack To Keep Your Console Risk-free
The procedure to upload more NES games in the machine involves uploading of the console memory on a PC. After that, players will need to add the extra ROM files of the game and re-upload the entire file set back in the NES Classic Mini console system. Surely, there is no need of telling that the method is illegal. But, there are many who perform this tactic to get the best out of their purchased consoles.
The task is not as easy as it may seem. It can lead to damaging of the Nintendo NES Classic Mini console if done incorrectly. We already know how difficult it is to get one of these rare edition consoles, and damaging one for the sake of adding more games to it is only devastating, isn't it?
By the looks of it, there are many hackers who do it just for the kick. And, many have successfully hacked the video game console to add in more ROMs. Maybe the secret message in the Nintendo NES Classic Mini console will make fans stop the illegal act.
An interesting thing to note about the NES Classic Mini hack is that the game console comes with a storage limit of 60 games, which is twice of what the console is shipped with. This makes it confusing as for why Nintendo stored only 30 games in it when it could be loaded with 30 more. This speculates us to believe that there might be 30 more of them released anytime soon in the future.
