The president of Sony Worldwide Studios, Shuhei Yoshida, was among the creators and developers interviewed by Japanese publications on what their ambitions for 2017 are. Yoshida spoke of his hopes for better software in Sony's game consoles, but he also hinted that the company has several titles in development.

"We have numerous unannounced titles in production. Please look forward to their announcements," Yoshida said, via Famitsu (translated by Siliconera). The exec did not reveal further details on what these titles are, but fans should expect greater things on PlayStation 4 and PlayStation VR.

Meanwhile, director for "Gravity Rush" Keiichiro Toyama said he's schedule to work on a new project after "Gravity Rush 2" ships this month. "After my first purchase of the year that is Gravity Rush 2, I'll immediately begin work on a new title," the director teased.

Both Yoshida and Toyama were also interviewed by 4Gamer last month, with Yoshida saying that he hopes 2017 is a year that delivers the best software for Sony's PS4 and PSVR. The president also noted that 2016 has been a year of PlayStation hardware, with PSVR, PS4 Pro and the slimmed down PS4 being released.

Elsewhere in the translated interviews, Square Enix's Takamasa Shiba and Ryota Aomi said that they are both working on unannounced games. Game director for "Final Fantasy XV" Hajime Tabata also dropped a bomb, saying that he is working on an update for the game. He then added that an expansion that has not been made public yet will be part of his projects for this year.

The folks at Sony Interactive Entertainment Japan along with Shuhei Yoshida are hard at work with more surprises for 2017, the year end mass interview concluded. Apart from developers' outlook for this year, gamers have also been given insights as to what to expect. For PlayStation owners everywhere, this is something worth keeping a lookout for.
