"Criminal Minds" Season 12 spoilers reveal that in the upcoming episode entitled, "Spencer," fans and viewers may see Reid (Matthew Gray Gubler) make a life-changing decision. Speaking with TVLine, co-writer Kirsten Vangsness teased that this episode is aptly titled given the events that will unfold for Reid.
The publication notes that Vangsness wrote previous episodes of "Criminal Minds" wherein Gideon was killed off, which led to the exit of Derek (Shemar Moore). The writer shared that she often seems to be writing episodes that lead to changes in particular characters.
"That does not mean the ends of people, it just changes their course," she explained. "It's a course changer."
This may offer reassurance to viewers who were worried that Matthew Gray Gubler will be the next actor to leave "Criminal Minds" Season 12 after Thomas Gibson and Shemar Moore. There are reports that Reid may simply choose to leave the FBI's Behavioral Analysis Unit (BAU) for his mother.
Meanwhile, "Criminal Minds" Season 12 spoilers from Cinema Blend also tease of a "super dark" storyline ahead. According to the publication, the BAU will be working on the case of a mother who is trying to connect with her son who is a serial killer.
Adam Rodriguez, who plays Luke in "Criminal Minds" Season 12, shared that this is the "most gruesome" episode of the show he has seen so far. Rodriguez said that fans will be "cringing" when the view the said episode.
