Samsung Galaxy Note 2 rumor mill is spinning with great speed since Samsung showed off its latest flagship smartphone - the Galaxy S3. Earlier this month, the rumored release date for Galaxy Note 2 was pulled forward from October to September. And now, new reports are hitting the blogosphere, suggesting that the next installment in the Samsung's phablet series can debut as early as next month.

Citing source familiar with the matter, MKNews reported last week that the Galaxy S3 will debut at IFA consumer show held in Berlin, Germany, on Aug. 30. The Korean news publication has no additional details about the smartphone; just they know is that it will come with a slightly bigger display, measuring 5.5 inches. The current Galaxy Note has a 5.3inches display with pixel density of 285ppi.

"Samsung will unveil the Galaxy Note 2 during the IFA 2012, a consumer electronics show held in Berlin, Germany in late-August. The new model will definitely come with a 5.5 in. display, but it is unclear as to what other features will be included," MKNews' source said.

As far as specs are concerned, the successor to Galaxy Note will come with Galaxy S3 like hardware. The design is believed to be inspired from the Galaxy S3. According to an earlier report, which also confirms 5.5-inch screen size, the Galaxy Note 2 will run on Exynos 4 Quad chipset featuring quad-core 1.7 GHz processor, 1GB of RAM and updated camera.

The device is likely to pack Cortex A9 processor, instead of new Cortex A15 technology. Packing Cortex A15 processor technology, the Galaxy Note 2 can put Galaxy S3's sales to an end as the latter ships with Cortex A9 processor, which Samsung cannot afford.

The Galaxy Note 2 will run Android 4.1 Jelly Bean out of the box. It is unknown whether it will have Galaxy S3-like software features or not. Samsung is expected to bump up the camera to 12- or 13-megapixel from 8-megapixel camera found in current models like Galaxy S3/S2 and Galaxy Note.

Folks at DDaily [English translation], another Korean news site, are more specific about the release date. The publication claims that Samsung Unpacked event for the Galaxy Note 2 will begin at 7 PM CEST (local time) Aug. 30.

With the debut of Galaxy S3 and Galaxy Note 2, Samsung looks to making a head start on iPhone 5 that Apple is expected to unveil in September/October.
