"The Flash" and a couple more hit TV shows have been secured for new season by The CW for the 2017-2018 TV season. Which TV shows are included in the list? Read on!

Clearly, one of the most top-rated shows these days, it is no wonder that "The Flash" made its way to next year's line-up. Kicking off Sunday, the Television Critics Association winter press tour became the avenue to announce seven new shows that will be renewed for next year. Aside from the hit superhero show, "Jane the Virgin", "Supernatural" and "Arrow" are expected to return.

"Jane the Virgin" will be having its fourth season while "Supernatural" is hitting its thirteenth season. Arrow's sixth season is also under way. Another superhero show, "Supergirl", will be returning to the block for third season while "Crazy Ex-Girlfriend" and DC's "Legends of Tomorrow" rounds up the list. As of the moment. some shows expected to be lined up for next year such as "iZombie", "The 100", "The Originals" and the new show, "Riverdale" will be premiering early this year.

However, "The Vampire Diaries" will soon bid farewell as it airs its series finale on March 10. According to sources, "Reign" will not be renewed anymore and will be cancelled on its fourth season. Newbie drama shows such as "No Tomorrow" and "Frequency" have not received back orders so their status is still in limbo.

Mark Pedowitz, the boss of The CW had released the following statement: "In the previous seasons, The CW has established schedule of proven, talented performers with our DC superhero lineup to the critically-acclaimed comedy and sci-fi dramas. The seven series announced today are picked up by The CW to enable the producers to have some planning time for what's next and what more they can offer, in order to provide the solid fans something to look forward to next season."

Averaging at a 1.2 demo rating, "The Flash" is easily the network's best rating series. It is equivalent to winning over 22 other shows of the Big 4 network dramas and around 3 million viewers every week. "Supergirl", "Arrow", "Legends" and Supernatural" follows with 2.7M (0.9 demo rating), and the others averaging 0.7 demo rating respectively. Last year, "Crazy Ex" had won two Emmy's with co-creator Rachel Bloom winning a Golden Globe a year before that.
