The Google voice assistant for its Google Pixel and Pixel XL smartphones is just that, a digital assistant that can only be used through voice interaction. However, Google smartphones' users may be up for a great New Year surprise as Google is said to introduce an upgrade to its AI assistant that will allow user to interact with it through typing rather than talking to it.
A beta version of a Google assistant app appeared just recently introducing a bunch of initial changes to the AI assistant app of Google. In the first look of the beta version of the new AI app from Google, a keyboard icon can be prominently seen. This new feature led tech and gadget experts to believe that the new AI app may allow Google Pixel and Google Pixel XL users to interact with it by typing instead of just voice interaction. The keyboard icon is presumed to launch a text field for users to type their written commands.
The new written command feature for the Google assistant is a welcome change as numerous users still prefer typing what they need rather than talking to an AI for their questions. Also, the use of voice command alone limits the use of Google AI assistant as users are not able to use their Google AI in a noisy environment.
Also, pundits have uncovered a code in the Google assistant v6.10 beta test which will allegedly place Google AI compatibility with wearables. The alleged new code is said to contain new settings for the Android Wear Assistant.
Another feature that is said to be unveiled with the beta version is the search gesture. If the leaked information holds true, this brand new feature will allow users to access their Google AI digital assistant by simply swiping the home screen of their Google Pixel or Google Pixel XL smartphones rather than tapping the search bar located at the top part of their devices.
