Verizon is the only major network carrier in U.S. that is keeping its customers waiting for so long, when it comes to the launch of the Galaxy S3. Now, users have to wait a couple of days more as Verizon has pushed back the release date to June 12.

Last week, Verizon Wireless announced that the highly anticipated smartphone will be available for in-house purchases starting July 10. But now, the carrier quotes June 12 release date for Samsung Galaxy S3 to hit carrier's stores on its Web Site. Verizon hasn't stated any reason behind the delay yet. However, we can undoubtedly blame the supply shortage for the delay.

Verizon is already shipping preordered Galaxy S3's to its customers. So, the delay does not appear to affect the preorders shipments. According to The Verge, Verizon will start shipping the Galaxy S3 on July 11. In case you choose to opt for overnight shipping, you will receive the smartphone on the same day it goes on sales in Verizon's stores.

Arrival of Samsung Galaxy S3 at Verizon will mark the availability of Galaxy S3 across the four major U.S. carriers. T-Mobile was the first to launch the smartphone on June 12 in selected markets. Meanwhile, Sprint and AT&T joined the bandwagon on July 1 and July 6 respectively.

Verizon's Galaxy S3 is priced at $199 and $249 for 16GB and 32GB versions respectively. Pricing is almost same across other carriers too, except at T-Mobile. T-Mobile is charging $279 and $379 for 16GB and 32GB version of Samsung Galaxy S3 respectively, which is $80 higher than what other carrier demand.

U.S. Cellular and regional carrier C-Spire will also sell Samsung Galaxy S3, but none of them have announced any release date.

Verizon's variant of Galaxy S3 comes is slightly different from other carriers as it comes with locked bootloader. However, folks at XDA Developers forum have figured a way to bypass carrier's restrictions.
