"Dota 2" released its biggest update ever and, fundamentally, a brand new game. Here are the highlights from the latest few patches deployed along with the links, which give more details.
Hero Swap Patch
Released on January 3, this minor "DotA 2" patch brought few bug fixes and allowed heroes to be swapped throughout the strategy phase. In this patch, Hero swapping is made possible by right-clicking on player names at the top of the screen throughout strategy time. It fixed items combining on the courier and added a range display to many items, which grant auras.
Moreover, it fixed a bug in captain's mode when a player did not pick a hero, which was causing no hero assigned to that player. It also fixed a bug where post-game commend and report options would not appear in most cases. Other solutions include fixing a visual bug with Underlord's Pit of Malice executing after the spell had finished and a rendering bug where an incorrect 3D scene would sometimes appear in the user interface.
Bug Fix Patch
It is a small "DotA 2" patch released on January 2 fixing a few bugs, and making Weaver a little more effective for Monkey King. The update fixed control clicking on units to select all of a given type and addressed a bug where hero portraits in chat were blocking clicks.
Furthermore, it fixed a bug where some hero models in the versus screen sometimes failed to animate, fixed a visual bug with Mjollnir's static charge effects and another bug where the default cosmetic items sometimes failed to apply to heroes. It also introduced Weaver's Swarm that provides the vision of Monkey King while in a tree. A few more, undocumented alterations were also found over in the keen Reddit thread.
Monkey King Workshop Patch
The is the final post-7.00 "DotA 2" mini-patch, infusing Monkey King to the workshop and fixing a series of bugs. This update reduced the scoreboard size when the item panel is not selected. It also addressed broken cosmetic meshes for Puck, Venomancer and Warloc, among others.
Balance patch 7.01 was released in December 20 and considerably the biggest set of changes so far after the 7.0 "DotA 2" patch, along with a few bugs squashed, natch. The full details of which can be found in the official patch note. The minimap input patch came out December 19, preventing the minimap from receiving phantom clicks and, generally, killing you.
