NeoGAF user Shinobi602 have once again organized a voting event for most anticipated game of 2017 and "The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild" blew competitions away this time around.
Remember that Shinobi602 voting system is relying heavily on mass participation so this may well represent a volume of grassroots instead of developers nor game authorities. Isn't it good to know how fellow plain gamer feels about 2017 and interesting that "The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild" at the forefront?
Another interesting result that this most anticipated game of 2017 features are "Persona 5" and "Horizon: Zero Dawn" trailing behind "The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild" by just hairline difference. "Horizon Zero Dawn" and "Persona 5" have already been in the same sweet spot for two consecutive years. Both failed to release in 2016 although release dates are now sure to be 2017.
For those who are wondering what criterion is used for voting "The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild" and company, it is actually quite simple and sensible. DualShockers explained that NeoGAF users have to list ten favorites from most to least anticipated. Those games were then assigned with respective point. First in the list gets 4 points, second and third have 3 points, fourth all the way to sixth got 2 points and the rest up to tenth get 1 point each.
"The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild," "Persona 5" and "Horizon: Zero Dawn" have carved in the list but where are the other games? Okay, "Red Dead Redemption 2" and "Mass Effect: Andromeda" completes the top 5 list.
"NieR: Automata" and "NiOh" are in sixth and seventh place respectively. Capcom's "Resident Evil 7: Biohazard" captured the eighth slot. Then "Gravity Rush 2" and "Ni No Kuni II: Revenant Kingdom" completed the top ten. Overall, there are 289 titles in Shinobi602 list of most anticipated games of 2017.
