"Harry Potter" fans are excited for 2017, because it is the year where author J.K. Rowling set the epilogue of "Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows." There may be huge revelations in the Harry Potter universe later in the year.

Cinema Blend writes that the epilogue of "Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows" is set in 2017, or 19 years after the Battle of Hogwarts and the magical heroes successfully overcame Lord Voldemort. The books were set in the 1990s, while the final chapter of "Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows" closed out in Spring 1998.

Although the books did not particularly indicate the years, many fans used the 500th deathday celebration of Nearly Headless Nick in "Harry Potter and the Chamber of Secrets" as reference. In the book, Harry Potter attended the party and noted the tombstone cake stating that Sir Nicholas died on Oct. 31, 1942.

That fact meant that Harry Potter was at the party in 1992, the Battle of Hogwarts took place in 1998, and the epilogue happened in 2017. In the epilogue, Harry Potter, Ron Weasley and Hermione Granger are already adults and sending their kids off to Hogwarts. The epilogue is also part of the introduction to the latest book, "Harry Potter and the Cursed Child," which focuses onAlbus Severus Potter. In the book, Harry Potter's second sonenters Hogwarts for the first time in September 2017.

The eight Harry Potter films were launched within a span of 10 years, from 2001 to 2011. "Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows" was released in 2007, while "The Cursed Child" became available in 2016. J.K. Rowling has not yet confirmed whether there will be new stories about Albus Potter on his first day of school. The author regularly features short stories related to the series, while the spin-off "Fantastic Beasts and Where to Find Them" recently launched in November 2016. The writer may have something special in store for fans in 2017.

In the meantime, "Harry Potter and the Cursed Child" is set to appear on Broadway soon. Fans are eagerly waiting for an official announcement for the epilogue movie. More updates and details are expected soon.
