In the past months, audition tapes of various actors from "Game of Thrones" have been circulating online. Recently, "Game of Thrones" fans were delighted to find Kristian Nairn's audition tape for the role of Hodor.

Hodor was killed off in "Game of Thrones" Season 6. However, fans are still watching his 2010 audition tape, which surfaced on Vimeo. The old footage, which lasts over six minutes, may explain why Irish DJ and actor was cast.

WinterIsComing reported that in the video, the "Game of Thrones" actor presented his version of the character. Nairn shared details about himself, including his height of 6'10, how he dyed his hair blonde and that he has above average strength. To hopefully be cast in "Game of Thrones," Nairn, who was 34 years old in the video, showed various features and actions of Hodor.

The cameraman asked him to show various angles of his face and body, and walk up and down the garden. The "Game of Thrones" actor also carried a boy on his shoulders, like Bran Stark (Isaac Hempstead Wright) did in the HBO series. He demonstrated his strength by lifting a heavy wooden table and portable well. Nairn also uttered "Hodor" several times.

The audition tape was not perfect, but it was sufficient to convince "Game of Thrones" casting director Nina Gold to bring in Nairn for the role. Her decision turned out to be a good one, since the character eventually became one of the most beloved on the show, especially after his tragic death by holding the door against the undead and saving Bran.

In "Game of Thrones," Hodor was depicted as a hulking but slow-witted friend of the Stark family. It was later revealed on the HBO show that Bran was actually responsible why Hodor lost much of his sensibility and was only capable of saying his name. The character appeared in several episodes with Bran until he was killed off in "The Door." His real name is Walder, but he started uttering Hodor, which came from the line "Hold the door."

"Game of Thrones" Season 7 is scheduled to launch sometime in 2017. More updates and details are expected soon.
