"Attack on Titan" Chapter 89 will involve the return of some members of the Survey Corps from the Yaegers' basement. Eren, accompanied by Hange, Levi, and Mikasa uncovered journals that were once written by Dr. Yaeger.

What these journals contained remain unconfirmed. Whilst Armin, Mikasa, and Eren are on trial for choosing to disobey military orders, it has also been reported that the trial proceedings will also be used to further look into the Yaeger journals.

The Kruger story arc will also reportedly resume in "Attack on Titan" Chapter 89. He will finally speak up about the truth on the nine Titan powers -- and that he possesses one of them.

The soldier will then demonstrate how to use this power and will turn himself into a Titan right in front of Grisha. Grisha witnesses everything, but will reportedly not seem bothered by it. Kruger will want to inject the Titan serum to Grisha in the hopes of convincing her to continue his mission and keep the Eldian people away from harm.

Multiple manga outlets have also pointed out Ymir will be taking center stage in "Attack on Titan" Chapter 89. She had recently written a letter for Historia Reiss and detailed how she lived her life before she became a Titan.

Ymir turned out to be an orphan and that an Eldian priest of the Church of the Wall was the one who took her in. It was the priest who gave her the name Ymir -- naming her after the Progenitor Titan, Ymir Fritz. Historia will be visibly affected by the contents of Ymir's letter as she will be staring blankly into space during the trial.

In the previous chapters, it was teased that members of the Reiss family have the ability to manipulate someone's memories by erasing the real ones and replacing them with a fake series of events. It remains unclear whether "Attack on Titan" Chapter 89 will include this angle or not.
