Announced as a PlayStation 4 exclusive at Gamescom 2013, the intriguing action-adventure game "Rime" is now coming to PS4, Xbox One, PC and Nintendo Switch in May 2017. Developer Tequila Works has also released an amazing trailer that shows off some gameplay. This is the game's re-reveal after nearly three years of silence.

Sony reportedly cut off its publishing deal with "Rime" in March 2016 after the game had gone unseen since its revelation at Gamescom. Tequila Works then announced that it was free to introduce the game to other platforms.

First reported by IGN, "Rime" has preserved its unique cartoony vibe, with Tequila Works describing it as a "single-player puzzle adventure game about a young boy shipwrecked on a mysterious island after a torrential storm." The new gameplay trailer hints at what to expect from the game, and also boasts its elaborate graphics.

According to Tequila Works, players must find their way to discover the island's secrets by making use of light, sound, time and perspective. "Rime's" setting is inspired by the terrain of the Mediterranean coast, and gamers will be presented with a fusion of colors and musical undertones to set the stage for deep immersion.

Watching the gameplay trailer, the creators of "Rime" seem heavily inspired with "The Legend of Zelda," hinting Team Ico influences. The upcoming game has taken the niche similar to "Ico" and "The Last Guardian," as can be seen in its gorgeous scenery alongside its complex puzzles.

"Rime" will be released on all major platforms, including the Nintendo Switch and PC, as depicted at the very end of the trailer. The game is due out in May 2017, with IGN noting that they will release more information all throughout January, including what happened between Tequila Works and Sony and the status of their partnership.
