Geoff Johns, president at DC Comics, recently teased a new TV series. DC Comic's Chief Creative Officer took to twitter just 5 minutes after 2017 officially started and shared his list of top five DC events for this year. Among a number of tweets was one announcing the launch of a brand new TV series from DC Comics. There are a number of TV shows which are currently on air including "Arrow," "The Flash," "Gotham," "Preacher," "Supergirl," and "Lucifer." However the question that remains unanswered is which is the New DC Comics TV Series, Johns has teased on the social networking site.

Announcement from DC Comics came at a time when speculations about two new shows, "Black Lightning" and "Krypton" are floating around the internet. However, fans are predicting the new show to be either "Booster Gold" or "Green Lantern." It is still very much unclear whether the new teased DC Comics TV series will be a part of the mini-DC universe or more of a standalone series.

Geoff Johns, it seems has already set up a list of projects to look forward to this year. The CCO is no doubt very much excited for the five projects DC Comics is about to reveal this year. While there were some already known titles including Injustice 2 and Wonder Woman, Johns' tweet did mention a number of new DC Shows. Johns also confirmed his decision to return back to writing comics in his tweet.

Earlier last year, DC co-publishers Jim Lee and Dan DiDio revealed to Comic Book Resources that Johns would return to write the end of "Rebirth" as a part of a two-year event. Now, combining the comments and the tweet from Johns, it's confirmed that the writer will start working on the new project very soon. Johns had previously announced at the San Diego Comic-Con that "Rebirth" will probably be his last comic book.

Mark Pedowitz, president of the CW, made it clear last year that the network wouldn't be picking up any new superhero shows in 2017. According to Polygon, the teased DC Comics TV Series would then be Black Lightning at the best. This new series from Greg Berlanti will premiere this year and revolve around a man named Jefferson Pierce, who ultimately becomes the "Black Lightning". It's worth notable that the show was picked up by Fox earlier last year, however, the company has not yet revealed anything about its plans.
