With the impending release of PS4 Pro this year, gamers would still want to have the data of their old PS4 in the new PS4 Pro. Here are some tips and tricks on how to deactivate console through PC or website.
Deactivate PS4 Console Through PC/Website
To deactivate your PS4 console, log in to your PlayStation Network account at Sony Entertainment Network. Click on the Account tab on the topmost part of the navigation bar. From the left side of the screen, select Media and Devices. Click on the Deactivate All option beside the Game section and select yes to confirm account deactivation.
When deactivating your PS4, once you have performed the process, it will take you six months to be able to repeat the process. In addition, if you do not have access to your system and you choose to deactivate it for video, you can fill out Sony's Console Deactivation Web Form to request for a deactivation. If you only want to deactivate video or games on only one system and not all of your systems, do it through the console you wish to deactivate.
Deactivate your PS4 as the Primary System
To deactivate your PS4 as the Primary System, select your local user account and go to Settings, then go to PlayStation Network, select Activate as Your Primary PS4. A prompt message asking you to Deactivate will pop op, choose yes.
After this process, your device is now deactivated and you can activate another PS4 as the primary system. Please take note that you can only activate one primary PS4 on your account at once. However, temporarily, you can activate as many PS4 systems as you want by signing into PSN and selecting No when a prompt message asked you to activate as your primary system. In addition, some features are only available on your primary system; it is advised to deactivate your primary system so you can activate another primary system, says PS Support.
