After the big box office hit of Marvel's "Deadpool" movie, many fans still want to watch it for free. And according to a report, this movie is ranked as the most pirated movie of 2016.

"Deadpool" was released on Feb. 12, 2016, hitting the box office with $780 million, a large profit considering the film was made with only $58 million. In this era where pirating movie seems normal, though it is actually illegal, it is not a surprise to see millions of pirated copies of blockbuster movies.

Torrent Freak reports that millions of people flock to torrents sites every week, searching for pirated copies of their favorite latest blockbuster movies. At the end of the 2016, the site took a look at movies which were pirated more often, and "Deadpool" topped the list.

Pirated copies of the movie first appeared in February after the movie premiere. After that, thousands and millions of downloads followed month after month. Now, these downloads made the movie as the most pirated one in 2016.

MovieWeb cited in their report, that "Deadpool" is also the most successful X-Men franchise to date. It did very well at the box office and was one of the biggest surprises in both critically and financially.

The publication also stated that most pirated movies in 2016 are the superhero movies from both DC and Marvel. Also, these movies are the most anticipated, triggering fans to download copies whenever there's one available on the internet.

"Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice" and "Captain America: Civil War" completed the top three with "Deadpool" on number one. "X-Men: Apocalypse" and "Suicide Squad" also made the list.

The list of rank of most-torrented or pirated films of 2016 was conducted by TorrentFreak. The date is estimated by the site based on the sources, including download statistics reported by other public trackers.
