Seems like Asus has sent these UX31A Zenbook Prime to Amazon without any official release or announcement which is very unlikely in the world where everyone is following the footstep of Apple with big release announcements.
Amazon is now selling UX31A Zenbook, the eye candy ultrabooks right now and anyone can buy those right now by heading over to Amazon. This is a good news for the consumers who were waiting after hearing the rumors, but it will take time to see if this strategy of marketing works out well for Asus.
One of the ultrabooks features a Core i5 processor clocking 1.17GHz, which will cost $1150 and the other ultrabook features a Core i7 processor clocking 1.17GHz and it will cost $1350. The other features of these two ultrabooks are quite similar. Both of them features 13.3-inch IPS displays with 1080p resolution, 4GB of RAM, 128GB SSD and Intel HD 4000 graphics chips. They both feature backlit keyboard. For those who will look away after watching the Intel HD graphics, there is also an option to choose an NVidia GT 620M graphics with a Core i7 processor which will cost $1299. In exchange the consumer will have to sacrifice the 128GB SSD and use a 500GB hard drive instead.
The stock of these ultrabooks does not look very high and the i7 models are available right now. In case of the i5 model and the NVidia model the interested parties will have to wait for 8-9 days. The recent highlighted release of the new MacBooks might have a negative effect on the quietly released Zenbooks if Asus decides to keep quiet like this. The Zenbook is available to purchase in two colors, which are Silver Aluminum and Rose Gold.
