In case you are a big fan of Android, especially the latest version of Google's operating system, dubbed Ice Cream Sandwich, here is the biggest deal of the day for you - Amazon Wireless is offering Samsung Galaxy Nexus, which is the first ICS powered smartphone, for just one cent on new individual or family contract with Verizon Wireless.
Samsung Galaxy Nexus is up for order online at Amazon Wireless Web site. But you will need to hurry as the offer is for limited time only, though Amazon has not revealed any expiry date. Those who want to open a new line into Verizon Wireless network can take advantage of the single penny offer. However, if you are looking for an upgrade on the network, the offer does not stand for you. In that case, Amazon Wireless is offering the device for $149 to existing Verizon Wireless customers.
Samsung Galaxy Nexus is Google's third Nexus-branded smartphone and was released back in December last year as a Verizon exclusive. Samsung Galaxy Nexus is also the first smartphone running Android 4.0 ICS and apparently one of the best ICS-powered devices available at the moment. Of course, HTC One X and Samsung Galaxy S3 are better in terms of specs, but at $0.01 Galaxy Nexus is the best Android 4.0 deal. And, in case you forget, Samsung Galaxy Nexus was selling for $299 a few months ago. So the Galaxy Nexus is worth buying at the current $0.01 price tag.
The device packs 4.65-inch Super AMOLED display with 1280 X 720 pixels resolution, dual-core 1.2 GHz processor, 1GB of RAM, 16/32GB of internal storage, NFC, 5-megapixel camera as well as Android 4.0 Ice Cream Sandwich.
Samsung's latest flagship model, the Galaxy S3, is also hitting the carrier in upcoming week(s). The device is currently up for preorders. However announcement regarding the final release date is still pending. Several unofficial reports claim that Verizon's Galaxy S3 will hit market on July 1. Some people have started thinking that the $0.01 Galaxy Nexus deal can choke Galaxy S3 sales at the Big Red.
