Samsung has been giving the public pieces of information about the physical attributes of its upcoming Samsung Galaxy S8, yet remain mum about its software component. However, with the company's latest filing for a trademark registration on a patent coined as Beast Mode, we now have an idea.

On December 20, the United States Trademark and Patent Office (USPTO) stated that Samsung Electronics has filed a trademark, termed as Beast Mode, on December 16. Moreover, the registration indicated that it is for goods and services with the description that it will be used for a smartphone or mobile phone with pre-installed incorporated application software to increase its performance and speed. It will also apply to electronic computer hardware such as computers, notebook computers, tablet PCs, portable computers, and netbook computers.

The Samsung Galaxy S8 is presumed to be equipped with the latest Qualcomm Snapdragon 835 system-on-chip and supported by 8GB of RAM. It is also possible that the Beast Mode filed for patent is a mode describing the software that will be used for the Galaxy S8.

The amount of power contained in Qualcomm's Snapdragon 835 coupled with an 8GB RAM for the upcoming Samsung Galaxy S8 will be immense. But according to Forbes, this implicates that running the smartphone at all times will strain the reserves of the battery. If the recent trend of controlling chip speeds while a device is idle is applied on a handset, then Samsung must have a comprehensive preparation so as not to disappoint users again if ever it integrates the Beast Mode in S8.

If this happens, the said mode will be activated thru a third-party application. It's also possible that the massive mode will be embedded in the device's firmware and automatically deliver when a demand is sensed or activate within a limited amount of time.

With the Beast Mode infused to the Samsung Galaxy S8, it will become the first device to have the highest specifications upon its release. It will also imply the South Korea-based tech giant's return to cutting-edge smartphone technology.
