Veteran game developer Louis Castle announced today the latest sequel of popular RTS game Command & Conquer, dubbed as War Commander: Rogue Assault. The next-generation, free-to-play RTS game features two single-player campaigns and asynchronous multiplayer options.

War Commander: Rogue Assault provides gamers the ability to take direct control of units on the battlefield, as well as coordinate flanking maneuvers and other war attack tactics. It also hastens the building of structures by ditching away the waiting period as with other mobile games. This will allow gamers to create troops instantly and to quickly enter battle melee. Additionally, its direct troop's control option in the battlefield means that skill is more important than luck in aspiring for victory.

The game was built for massive online gaming communities, for players to fight in real-time to acquire territories and resources with hundreds of multiplayer maps options covering various battlefields from around the world.

"These maps are truly massive multiplayer maps. You are working in real-time against many, many dozens, if not hundreds or thousands of players at once," said Castle in an interview with Polygon.

However, he pointed out that while War Commander: Rogue Assault works on phones, its superb graphic fidelity and touch control can be enjoyed more on tablets. In partnership with Kixeye, Castle worked on the development of Rogue Assault for two years and considered the project as his masterpiece --- a product of decades of experience in game development.

With the premiere features of Rogue Assault, Castle hopes that the latest installment of Command & Conquer series could easily duplicate the success of its predecessor --- including the original version and Dune 2 that sold over 30 million copies around the world. War Commander: Rogue Assault is now available for iOS and Android.
