Warner Bros. Montreal, the studio responsible for the popular "Arkham" series, recently had big shifts in management. Now, new reports are suggesting that the company may also be shifting some of its planned games as well, with the latest one now revealing that the company has fully abandoned its long-rumored new game based on the Suicide Squad DC anti-heroes.

Talks about a brand new game based on the Suicide Squad have been around for almost two years. The game possibility was teased in various ways --- including ending scene teasers found on both "Arkham Origins" and the handheld game, "Arkham Origins Blackgate".

A report from Kotaku revealed that the studio has apparently abandoned the game, which was already in development, to shift its focus on a brand new "Batman" title. The brand new title will focus on Damian Wayne, the son of Bruce Wayne and Talia al Ghul, making him the grandson of one of Batman's most dangerous enemies, Ra's al Ghul.

According to the report, the planned Suicide Squad video game likely did not make the cut when it was presented to Warner Bros. management during one of their closed-door meetings. Fans were also expecting the game to be announced together with the release of Suicide Squad's live-action movie, but its absence indicates that the game may have already been cancelled during that time.

As for the studio itself, two of its head honchos, namely studio head Martin Carrier and executive producer Reid Schneider, had already left the company. They were then replaced by Eidos Montreal's Stéphane Roy, who previously worked as executive producer for "Deus Ex: Mankind Divided". As it stands, there are still no confirmed reports yet on the new Batman game's release, but it would be safe to say that it might not be coming out for a while.
