After getting clearance at U.S. customs, HTC EVO 4G LTE has received a new release date. The device will go up on sales at Sprint stores starting June 2.

The carrier announced on Thursday that HTC EVO 4G LTE will be available in stock on June 2. Sprint will offer the device for $199 on two year contract. The device will be made available at Sprint stores as well as on the carrier's Web site.

"Great news! The wait is almost over! Sprint will begin selling HTC EVO 4G LTE for $199.99 in most retail channels (including www.sprint.com and 1-800-SPRINT1) this Saturday, June 2. Sprint retail stores will operate on regular business hours," said Sprint, in a statement on company's community page. "We are excited to see our customers enjoying this latest generation of the award-winning EVO family."

The original plans of Sprint were to release the EVO 4G LTE on May 18. However, due to patent wars with Apple, the shipments of HTC smartphones featuring the disputed technology were held by U.S. Customs. Sprint announced the release the device on May 23, after it failed to do so in time, but the review process at customs took longer than expected. Not long ago, HTC announced that its smartphones have passed the review process with customs and the smartphones are headed to respective carriers.

HTC EVO 4G LTE is commonly referred as Sprint's One X as it is simliar to the latter for most of its features and looks. It sports 4.7-inch LCD2 display with 720p resolution. The EVO 4G LTE boasts dual-core 1.5 GHz Snapdragon processor. It has 1GB of RAM and 16GB of internal storage. The camera department is also similar to the one seen in the One X. The 8-megapixel rear camera can capture photos with nearly zero shutter lags. It offers a microSD card slot, one thing that the One X does not boast off. Also it has a better battery with 2000 mAh capacity and a kickstand located at the back. HTC EVO 4G LTE device runs Android 4.0 Ice Cream Sandwich with Sense 4.0 overlay.
