Many fans were quite disappointed when they heard the news that Electronic Arts and DICE's "Star Wars: Battlefront" will greatly focus on the multiplayer mode. Luckily, it seems like this will not be the case for its upcoming installment "Star Wars: Battlefront 2."

According to EA developer Justin McCully, on his recent guesting at the Achievement Oriented podcast, the game studio is now ready to expand its gaming universe for "Star Wars: Battlefront 2." The first important feature that he brought to light is the much awaited solo game that many fans have been craving ever since "Star Wars: Battlefront."

"We heard the fans loud and clear that the multiplayer was great, but it wasn't enough and they wanted that complete package," McCully said on the podcast, as cited from GameSpot. "So the team has been very focused on delivering that single-player element."

Aside from the single player aspect of the upcoming game sequel, fans are also getting pretty excited for its contents. EA Chief Financial Officer, Blake Jorgensen, revealed earlier this year at the company's earnings call that "Star Wars: Battlefront 2" will feature "the new movies" and that it will have "bigger and better worlds."

Jorgensen, unfortunately, did not go into the specifics, particularly the "new movies" remark. It is unclear if the game sequel will feature the recent hit "Star Wars: The Force Awakens" and the upcoming spinoff movie, "Rogue One: A Star Wars Story," or if it will contain the second trilogy.

Because of all the hype surrounding the much-awaited game sequel, fans couldn't help but wonder when exactly it will come out. Luckily, McCully, during the recent podcast, has revealed the plans to launch the next installment in time for holiday 2017.

This is seemingly in line with Jorgensen's previous statement at last month's investors call, saying that "Star Wars: Battlefront 2" would most likely come out "a year from now," as reported by Polygon. More information about the matter should emerge early next year.
