A brand new patch has just been released this week for the highly popular and online-only first-person shooter video game, "Destiny". The update, Update 2.5.0 or otherwise known as "The Dawning" update, has just arrived in time for the start of the holiday season. But aside from providing some holiday-themed aesthetic items, the patch itself also introduces some of the most requested content for the game --- including the return of Sparrow Racing League.
The pumped up Mario Kart-style racing event has been requested by fans, to be revived into the game once again ever since it was removed back in December 2015. With its return, fans can now strap themselves again to their hovering rocket bikes and participate in a fun-filled multiplayer racing mayhem. With the return of this league, gamers also get the chance to win rare items --- which, in itself, makes joining these races worthwhile.
As an added bonus, Bungie has also included the return of a well-loved game weapon --- in the form of a sniper rifle dubbed as the "Ice Breaker". This weapon was unfortunately nerfed, which means that it isn't as powerful as it should be when it was released in Year One. As for new activities, the update also features the return of a Strike mission dubbede as "The Nexus". The return of this short co-op mission should be able to provide gamers with hours of fun as well, which they can enjoy with their friends or with complete strangers.
As mentioned, The Dawning update will contain several new Holiday-themed aesthetic items. While the previously released "Festival of the Lost" update offered Halloween-themed masks and costumes, the new update offers players new Holiday-themed apparel. Players can also purchase these items through a new vendor that has been added in the Tower area. The game's Holiday event, including the Holiday-themed content, will officially end on Jan. 3, 2017.
