On June 15, a hand-written memo of Apple's late co-founder Steve Jobs, who once worked at Atari will be auctioned by Sotheby's and it is expected to fetch up to $15,000.
The Memo Content
Jobs was only 19 years old when he wrote the memo for then-supervisor Stephen Bristow, jotting down some key features that Atari is capable of bringing to its World Cup Soccer arcade game. The memo details some features of the World Cup game to make it more pleasurable to gamers. The memo was stamped as "All-One Farm Design," including Jobs' family address, and the Buddhist mantra, gate gate paragate parasangate bodhi svahdl, which is visible at the base of the stamp.
The memo was written by Jobs when he worked nights at Atari in 1974.
Upcoming Auction
Sotheby's will also be auctioning a working Apple I motherboard which includes a set of cassette interface, operating manuals, and a BASIC Users Manual. Research has shown that there are less than 50 Apple I Computers in existence and only six are in good condition. The lot is expected to fetch anything between $120,000 and $150,000.
