Windows 8 tablet rumors have been high since Microsoft revealed the touch-optimized Metro UI of Windows 8. Different manufacturers including HP, Nokia and Asus are believed to be working on Windows 8 tablets. However, a little or nothing was known about Windows 8 tablet until the images of two Windows 8 tablets manufactured by Dell surfaced online.

As reported by Neowin, Dell is not just working on one but two Windows 8 tablets titled Dell Latitude 10 and Dell XPS 12. Dell Latitude 10 features 10.8-inch display with 1366 X 768 pixels resolution, dual-core Intel Atom processor, Intel graphics, 2GB of RAM and 128GB of SSD storage. The Latitude 10 will be powered with two different swappable batteries, indicating different versions of the tablet. The smaller battery will give a talk time of 6-8 hours, while the bigger one could last up to 12 hours on heavy usage.

Dell XPS 12, on the other hand, is a convertible 12.5-inch tablet with full-HD resolution and edge-to-edge corning Gorilla Glass display. XPS 12 has aluminum and carbon fiber chassis and looks similar to Dell's Inspiron Duo tablet. There are no words about hardware chips fitted inside this tablet.

Dell Latitude 10 is believed to debut in November this year, while XPS 10 will hit sometime later (possibly in December 2012). However, we will not be surprised if Dell releases both the tablet in the same event. There are no words on pricing either.

Earlier this year, reports came in that Nokia will be the first manufacturer to roll out Windows 8 tablet in the market. However, The Verge claimed that Lenovo will be the first manufacturer to bring Windows 8 tablet. Reportedly, HP is also working on a Windows 8 tablet while Asus is also keen for releasing Windows 8 tablet. It is difficult to predict which brand will be first to release Windows 8 tablet. But one thing is sure - we will have a couple of Windows 8 tablets available in the market by the end of 2012.
