The HTC One M9 was launched a year ago in the market with best-in class specifications. Let's see whether the latest OnePlus 3 is worth upgrading to this.

Starting with the design and display, the OnePlus 3 features a huge 5.5" AMOLED display whereas the HTC One M9 sports a regular 5" LCD3 capacitive touchscreen. Both have similar 1080X1920 pixel resolution with Gorilla Glass protection over the display.

The HTC One M9 currently runs Android 5.0 Lollipop based HTC Sense UI 7.0, while the OnePlus 3 has Android 6.0 based Oxygen OS 3.2.8. Both will be upgraded to the latest Nougat OS.

In terms of performance, OnePlus 3 features a quad-core Snapdragon 820 processor clocking at 2.15GHz. Surprisingly, the HTC One M9 comes with only 10% slower octa-core Snapdragon 810 processor with 2.0 GHz clocking speed.

Adding to the processor, the OnePlus 3 took the user experience to the next level with 6GB RAM while the HTC One M9 has only 3GB RAM to smoothly switch and run apps.

Interestingly, the OnePlus 3 doesn't have a microSD slot but only 64GB internal storage. On the other hand, the HTC One M9 have only 32GB inbuilt storage with expandable storage up to 256GB.

One plus 3 have twin sim slot while the HTC have single SIM option.

The 3000mAh battery in One Plus 3 is quite similar to 2840mAh battery in the HTC One M9. Additionally, both comes with Faster charging option.

The One Plus 3 have a 16 MP (2160p) rear camera with LED Flash and 8MP selfie camera while the HTC One M9 leads with 20MP camera with dual-LED flash and 4MP front camera. However the OnePlus 3 camera is packed with latest technology.

Considering the overall specs, the OnePlus 3 is a good upgrade from the HTC One M9, though it doesn't offer any wow features.
