The HTC 10 and the LG V20 are now available to buy in the UK and US. Let's get our hands on both to see which one stands out.

HTC has maintained its bold and curvy looks of premium smartphones, while LG opted for a redesign for the V20, but which should you choose?

The HTC 10 features a 5.2-inch Super LCD 5 while the LG V20 has a 5.7-inch IPS LCD display. Both have 2560 x 1440 resolution. The LG V20 have a secondary 2.1-inch display for notifications.

Starting with the HTC 10, Hi-Tech Computers has used a 12-megapixel rear snapper with wider aperture on board at f/1.8, OIS technology and dual-LED dual tone Flash. The front-facing camera is 5-megapixels and both perform very well.

The LG V20 has a 16MP rear camera, along with a secondary 8-megapixel 135-degree wide-angle sensor for a wider field of view that is said to be closer to a human eye than a regular camera. It also has a 5-megapixel front-facing camera.

Both HTC 10 and the LG V20 opts for the Snapdragon 820 with clocking speed of 2.15 GHz. They are powerful, slick and fast in operation and neither overheats when you throw harder tasks at them.

They flaunt same storage option and RAM with two variants of 32GB/64GB internal storage option coupled with 4GB RAM. There is a dedicated microSD slot up to 256GB in both.

The HTC 10 comes with 3000mAh battery under the hood, while the LG V20 has a slightly bigger 3200mAh battery, charged via Quick Charge 3.0 in both.

The LG V20 is launched with the latest Android Nougat with their own software overlays. On the other hand the HTC 10 is running on Android Marshmallow from the box with planned upgrade to Android Nougat.

Summing up both the HTC 10 and the LG V20 are great smartphones. LG V20 fares ahead in terms of camera and its secondary display. Well that's really up to you and what you want from your smartphone because they are premium range samrtphones.
