A few details about Bioware's much anticipated title "Mass Effect: Andromeda" has emerged, as confirmed by a known industry insider.

Writing on NeoGAF forums, industry insider Shinobi602 said that some of the planets in the game will be story-centric, while a number of others which will have more of an "open world" gameplay with tons of activities to do and most likely sidequests to complete.

"There are a certain number of very large planets that have any number of activities on them. Enemy bases, main plot missions, and other things," shinobi602 said. "These are sort of the "open world" areas you'll freely explore. Some will be more story centric than others. There's also a lot of side areas too that could be smaller planets, outposts, derelict space stations, etc."

The insider also confirmed that the human-survivalist faction Cerberus, which made an appearance in all the previous "Mass Effect"games, will not return to "Mass Effect: Andromeda," GamingBolt reported.

In other news, Bioware's Mac Walters said that in terms of combat gameplay, "Mass Effect: Andromeda" is inspired by Bungie's shooter game "Destiny, especially with its controls and camera.

Walters also commented about people's concerns about the latest trailer's animation quality in an interview with Gamespot.

"Cinematics are very complicated, and have a lot of dependencies. The levels, characters, lighting... everything has to be at a certain point to allow cinematics to polish their work," Walters explained. "As a downstream team, it means it's one of the last things to get polished, and something we work on up until the very end."

"Ultimately, as this was a gameplay trailer, we made the decision to show 'in-game' footage--not pre-rendered," the director continued. "But rest assured, it will look great by the time we ship. And we'll be sure to share more of the characters, stories, and cinematics before then."

"Mass Effect Andromeda" is scheduled for a Spring 2017 release.
