The iPhone 7 was unveiled only last September, alongside its bigger sibling: the iPhone 7 Plus. However, it doesn't end there. The company is also set to release upgraded versions of its recent iPhone models next year: the iPhone 7s and the iPhone 7s Plus.
The new iPhone 7s and iPhone 7s Plus will only have internal changes, an added A11 chip for faster performance. Everything else stays the same, from its composition down to its exterior design. It doesn't even come with wireless charging still, according to Japanese blog Macotakara. Notably, Mac Otaka has strong and mostly accurate predictions about iPhones. The Japanese blog was the first to account iPhone 7's jet black color availability and the deletion of its 3.5mm headphone jack.
There are a lot of speculations about the upcoming new models, iPhone 7s and iPhone 7s Plus. The highly probable one is that together with the current Jet Black, Rose Gold, Gold, Black, and Silver color options, the models will also be available in an all-new red color. It will include updated 5.5-inch and 4.7-inch models with traditional LCD displays, as well as a premium model with OLED display and glass casing. However, these reports are contradicting on which features will be incorporated on each model mentioned.
If these reports are true, then it might indicate Apple's future plans of releasing a completely reconstructed glass-backed iPhone with a rounded, bezel-free OLED display, and wireless charging at the high end of its 2017 smartphone lineup.
Apple follows a tick-tock releasing cycle with its iPhones, making Apple fans upgrade their mobile phones once every two years, Macworld reported. It will release a full-number upgrade, including a substantial physical rendition (iPhone 4, iPhone 5, iPhone 6) that is good for one year. By the following year, it will release an S upgrade; with the same physical architecture and design with its predecessor, but comes with improved spec boosts and new features (iPhone 4s, iPhone 5s, iPhone 6s).
