HTC was found guilty of infringing Apple patent by ITC (International Trade Commission) in December last year. The punishment is a ban on HTC handsets that utilize the patented technology. Earlier this week, the news surfaced that HTC One X and EVO 4G LTE have been held up at customs. Now the patent war is about to affect other HTC smartphones too with Amaze 4G on the verge of getting blocked in U.S.

According to TmoNews, T-Mobile is running short of HTC Amaze 4G, which is possibly due to patent wars with Apple. Folks at the tech site have unveiled a letter that one T-Mobile consumer received from the carrier.

The letter reads as follow:

"Dear T-Mobile Customer,

Thank you for your recent order. We wanted to let you know that your order for the HTC Amaze has been delayed due to an unforeseen issue with receiving the product from the manufacturer. At this time, we do not have an estimate as to when the product will be available. Because we don't know when the product will be available, we recommend that you choose an alternate device. Please call us at 1-800-672-5390 if you wish to do this and one of our agents will be happy to assist you with finding another device that will meet your needs. If you do not select another device, the Amaze will ship to you as soon as product becomes available.

We recommend the Samsung Galaxy S Blaze 4G as a replacement. This device is free for you with no rebate required. If you selected overnight shipping, you will not be charged.

We sincerely apologize for the delay. Thank you for being a T-Mobile customer. We truly appreciate your business.

Thank you,

T-Mobile Customer Care"

The official T-Mobile letter indicates that the legal battles are heating up and all HTC smartphone might get affected by it. Surprisingly, T-Mobile recommends its users to buy Samsung Galaxy S Blaze 4G in the letter. But is Galaxy S Blaze 4G a suitable alternative?

HTC Amaze 4G Versus Samsung Blaze 4G

HTC Amaze sports a 4.3-inch qHD display, dual-core 1.5 GHz processor, 1GB of RAM, 16GB of internal storage and 8-megapixel camera. It runs Android 2.3 Gingerbread.

On the other hand, Blaze 4G has 4-inch display with 480 X 800 pixels resolution. It features dual-core 1.5 GHz processor with 1GB of RAM and just 3GB of internal storage. It has 5-megapixel camera and runs Android 2.3 Gingerbread.

Galaxy S Blaze 4G is nowhere near HTC's smartphone in features and offering. Galaxy S Blaze 4G has smaller display, low resolution camera, lesser storage and novice design as compared to Amaze 4G. So why is T-Mobile recommending Samsung Galaxy S Blaze 4G over HTC Amaze 4G? A valid reason behind the recommendation is that Amaze 4G is also included in the patent wars and it is on ITC's blocked list. And like HTC One X and EVO 4G LTE, Amaze 4G has also been delayed infinitely.

Meanwhile, if you are already a proud owner of Amaze 4G, there's some good news for you. HTC will be rolling out the ICS update for Amaze 4G on May 21. T-Mobile had promised the ICS update in December last year.
