The whole "No Man's Sky" fiasco has turned its subreddit into a place full of angry players who have been criticizing the game since it was released. Thankfully, all these anger were recently channeled towards a good cause, in a move that went beyond rants and the occasional memes.

Hello Games, especially Sean Murray has, for lack of a better term, gone into hiding since the game was released, without any explanation as to why there were a lot of promised features that were not in the game.

In a Reddit post titled, "90 Days of silence from Hello Games about their game. Sean Murray, we've come to bargain," "No Man's Sky" subreddit moderator BaRKy1911 has spoken about Murray's absence and how they can turn it into something positive.

"So the other mods and myself have been speaking about having a fundraiser type deal where we raise money for charity," the moderator wrote on Reddit. "Since we just hit 90 days of 0 communication about the game I thought now is a great time."

In light of this, the subreddit moderators have set up a fundraising campaign called "No Man's Sky's Journey To Stop Cancer," as a way of "celebrating" Murray's 90 days of silence.

"So to celebrate it being 90 days since he last spoke about it we're having a 'party' in a sense and asking people to donate money to a good cause, hopefully generating some positivity in this bleak space." the moderator wrote on the GoFundMe page.

The proceeds will go to Cancer Research UK, and the page has raised over £1,200 (around $1400) in only five days, well exceeding the initial target of £500.

The moderator also said that if by 110 days, Murray still has not spoken about the game, then they may turn the whole subreddit into a Sean Murray parody of some sort, but they also said that they are open for more ideas.
