Apple iPhone 5 is still shrouded in a mystery and we are working hard to bring pieces together to visualize the final product. The recent news is that Apple has acquired the much-highlighted iPhone5.com domain indicating that the new iPhone is on the way.
Earlier this month, Apple filed a complaint with WIPO (World Intellectual Property Organization) to gain control over iphone5.com domain. Launched in 2010, iphone5.com was a small forum with more than 400 registered members. Some of users even tried to raise voice against the acquisition, but they got no chance against the world's most valuable company.
WIPO case number D2012-0951 has listed as "terminated", reflecting that Apple is the new owner of the domain. When trying to open the iPhone5.com domain, we ended up on a blank page, which used to land users on the discussion forum. According to the recent Whois database, iphone5.com domain is now registered to Corporation Service Company with billing address in Wilmingtion, USA. As reported by The Next Web, which is also the first site to notice the change in ownership of iphone5.com domain, Apple probably contracted the Corporation Service Company's services to take ownership of the domain.
Apple iPhone 5 screen size is a hot matter of debate for analysts and technology bloggers, and possibly the hottest topic about iPhone 5 together with the release date rumors. According to a recent report by Wall Street Journal, Apple has ordered 4-inch displays from Asian suppliers like LG Display and Japan-based Sharp Corp. Most of other reports are also indicating that Apple can bump up the screen size in its upcoming flagship model.
But in case of release date, nothing is certain at the moment. Apple's annual Worldwide Developer Conference (WWDC) is just a month away and iOS 6 rumors are going through the roof. iOS 6 has already been noticed in App Store Application usage logs. Possibly, Apple will unveil its next generation mobile operating system at WWDC June show, but could the new iPhone be on the way?
WWDC has been a home for Apple phone since 2007 to 2010. Breaking the tradition in 2011, iPhone 4S debut was delayed till October. Apple iGadgets have a lifetime as a flagship model for minimum one year. If Apple sticks to its code of conduct then iPhone 5 will come out in September or October.
