Fans were disappointed when Edge Magazine revealed "Final Fantasy XV"'s "linear" second half. However, this was slammed by the official "Final Fantasy XV" Twitter account.

The publication ran a preview article about the highly anticipated title for its 300th issue, and there are a few parts in that article that left a few "Final Fantasy" fans a bit disheartened. Read the excerpts in question below (via NeoGAF): (Warning: Potential spoilers ahead)

"The elevation of supporting characters is designed to appeal to fans but it's been done at the expense of a strong plot."

"The creative pressures and arguments that have coloured Final Fantasy XV's development are most evident in the second half, where it almost switches genre, away from the open world design of the The Witcher 3, which was an influence on the current team, to a much more traditional linear series of cutscenes and dungeons."

"To make clear the distinction between the two halves of the game, if you want to return to the open-world area you'll need to travel 'back in time' when at a save point. Once there, you can mop up any unresolved side-missions, until you're ready to return to the present."

The reviewer, Edge Magazine's Simon Parkin, claimed at first that he played "all the way to the final fight," which gives people the impression that he was given the full game by Square Enix.

The "Final Fantasy XV" Twitter account, however, said that the publication was only given a "longer preview," and not the final build of the game.

Parkin then confirmed that he was indeed given an incomplete preview of the game, acknowledging that there may have been parts excluded.

Interestingly, Noctis' voice actor Ray Chase also commented on the news about "Final Fantasy XV" having a linear second half, in response to a question from a fan on Twitter. His reply is short and sweet, but it pretty much drives the point home.

"Final Fantasy XV" will be launched on Nov. 29.
