The Winchester boys reunite with their mother Mary in the upcoming sixth episode of "Supernatural" Season 12, as they track down the demon who gatecrashes the hunters gathering. Will Mary stay on the team for a long time?
After 33 years in heaven, Mama Winchester came down to earth after Dean helped Amara and God reconcile during the "Supernatural" Season 11's finale. But at the end of the third episode this season, Mary left the gang to mourn the family she used to know, which impacted Dean a lot.
With Mary around, the brothers are obviously much more skilled than they were before. With this, the question surfaces if actress Samantha Smith's character will stay in the show for a long time. But Buddy TV suggests that Mary should become a permanent member of the team, as Sam and Dean definitely needs her motherly figure. She is also "wise," has "great instincts" and knows how to torture someone, which is a helpful skill that the brothers should learn.
Meanwhile, the episode 6 of "Supernatural" Season 12 continues the ride of Winchester boys reuniting with their mother at a gathering for a fallen hunter. As per synopsis of "Celebrating The Life of Asa Fox," all supernatural hunters gather around to commemorate the life and tragic death of the one they cared about dearly. However, the celebration turns into a bloodbath.
With the hunters mourning for Asa Fox, apparently the demons decided to take the time as an opportunity to slaughter them in the wake. The demon starts killing off the hunters one by one, as Sam, Dean and Mary are trapped in a house.
In the teaser trailer of "Supernatural" Season 12 episode 6, Grim Reaper appears and tells Dean the rule of the house, which is "one-way ticket."
The clip also shows the first meeting between Mary and Sheriff Jody Mills. Comic Book Movie notes that Sheriff Mills is essentially the surrogate mother of sorts to the Winchester boys for the last decade. For this reason, many viewers have wondered how this episode will eventually turn out for the two women and whether they will get along with each other.
While there is no confirmation or reports about Smith's series regular, with her character's important role, it should be a great move for the show to have her stay longer. But for now, viewers should not miss her presence in "Supernatural" Season 12 Episode 6 on Thursday, Nov. 17.
