With the start of "Stranger Things" Season 2 production this week, expect more hints and clues to surface. One of the latest updates is the additional characters including Roman, which will be played by Danish actress Linnea Berthelsen.
Netflix is not too shy to give away some spoilers on the upcoming "Stranger Things" Season 2. The latest update revealed that the production is currently in progress. According to ComicBook, the team is now filming in Atlanta again to shoot the return of Eleven after she was left lost and Eggo-less last season.
Recent updates also tackled the additional characters coming to "Stranger Things" for its sophomore season. First is Sean Astin as Bob Newdy, a local Radioshack's nerdy manager and former high school buddy to Joyce Byers and Sheriff Hopper. Second, Paul Reiser who is bound to play the new villain of the show named Dr. Owens, a Department of Energy high-ranking member with a 'clean-up' task.
The most notable fresh character in "Stranger Things" Season 2 will be portrayed by a least-heralded of the new cast. Refinery reported that Linnea Berthelsen, a Danish actress, is anticipated to play Roman whom Netflix described as "an emotionally damaged, magnetic young woman who suffered a great loss as a child. Although she does not live in Hawkins, she is mysteriously connected to the supernatural events at the lab..."
For those who don't know her, here's a quick background about the actress: Berthelsen grew up in Denmark and started acting in her late teens. She appeared in Danish series "The Desert" and "Exitium." Her debut as a lead in a sci-fi thriller short-film "Natskygge" premiered in "Dagmar Teatret" in Denmark in 2015, as per her bio in IMDb.
On the other hand, director Shawn Levy said to Collider that he is prepping this month to start shooting his episodes through December and January. With that filming schedule, it is now confirmed that "Strangest Things" Season 2 will not be premiering this early 2017. But many already suspect that the air date will be the same as the first season.
The debut season of the Netflix-original sci-fi series was such a hit with impressively high ratings and viewership, so it is needless to say that the "Stranger Things" team is now doing its best to live up to their initial success and fans expectation.
With the latest updates surrounding around "Stranger Things" Season 2, it is certainly to look forward to.
