Amazon recently released the first 2 minutes from the upcoming "The Man In The High Castle" Season 2 showing teenage students reciting the Pledge of Allegiance to the Nazi rulers. A tense meeting between Juliana and John Smith is also expected.
"The Man In The High Castle" Season 2 teaser trailer begins with Thomas (Quinn Lord), son of John Smith arriving to school. Everything seems normal as he heads to his classroom, tutors another student in early American history, and is then chosen to lead the Pledge of Allegiance.
"I swear I will observe the law, conscientiously fulfill my duties at home and school, be faithful and obedient, and pledge absolute allegiance until death to the leader of the Nazi Empire, Adolf Hitler," the students recite in the clip.
Den of Geek reports that "The Man In The High Castle" Season 2 will tackle the world under the winners of the World War II in alternate history. The second season will pick up with Juliana Crain facing the consequences of her decision to betray the Resistance. She is also bound to meet the ruthless John Smith who is currently investigating the Resistance in New York.
The political tension will rise between Germany and Japan during the sophomore season in "The Man In The High Castle." Indiewire reports that Trade Minister Tagomi regretting his act of smuggling Reich's nuclear technology. Additionally, Chief Inspector Kido starts to take greater interest in the Man in the High Castle.
Yahoo! notes that despite losing the showrunner Frank Spotnitz in second season, the upcoming season will continue to "twist American culture" in disturbing ways. The publication also speculates that the young Smith might not be too allegiant to the Nazi rulers, who want him dead due to his serious medical condition. In fact, "The Man In The High Castle" Season 2 will see the struggle of John in keeping his son alive and the fact that the party he serves has a long-established policy of euthanizing the weak.
"The Man In The High Castle" Season 2 airs December 16, Friday on Amazon Prime.
