Every smartphone users are patiently waiting for the latest Android update to be released from their respective manufacturers. One such case is the Sony Xperia family. We have gathered some important information regarding the release of Android 7.0 for Sony Xperia smartphones.

As you've probably seen Google unveil Android version 7.0, Nougat we've seen lots of questions on Sony's upgrade roadmap and plans.

According to an official blog post by Sony itself, the company has revealed which devices are going to get Android 7.0 Nougat.

"We will make Android 7.0, Nougat available for: Xperia Z3+, Xperia Z4 Tablet, Xperia Z5, Xperia Z5 Compact, Xperia Z5 Premium, Xperia X, Xperia XA, Xperia XA Ultra, Xperia X Performance - and Xperia XZ & Xperia X Compact*."

Sony hasn't given any official date when Nougat will be released to these devices. But they have smartly clarified the time and process required to release the update- "Software rollouts are a phased process - timing and availability will vary by market and/or operator. Most models supported but some operator/market exceptions will apply."

The company further hinted that the Sony will include lots of exciting new features and functionality with new improvements with the user experience. We can expect an entirely new UI for Xperia users in the Android 7.0 update.
