As per rumors of a new benchmark website, Sony is scheduled to launch a flagship phone under the name Xperia X2 next year.

A GFXBench listing spotted by Xperia Blog reveals a Sony handset with the model number F8331 and while it's not named it's clearly a high-end device, with a Snapdragon 820 processor, 3GB of RAM, a 21MP rear camera, a 12MP front-facing one and a 5.1-inch 1080p screen.

There are reports that the camera will possess the 4K video recording functionality same as that of the company's another smartphone Sony Xperia Z5 Premium. The specs rumors also hinted that the phone will feature a USB Type-C port, which will enable the users with faster data transfers.

The Sony Xperia X features slightly matches with the likes of the new smartphones. We can predict that the next smartphone could be the Xperia X2, the flaghip device from Japanese smartphone maker.

As far as the specs of the upcoming Sony Xperia X2 are concerned, Tech Radar reported that it will sport a sleeker and enhanced chassis with curved edges and a huge display.

Apart from the release date and specs rumors, the upcoming Sony phone will reportedly be priced from $550 to $650. The device is expected to be a high-end device, which will be one step further from the Xperia Z5 Premium.

Just like the Xperia X, there may be several different handsets launched, as Xperia Blog also found a user agent profile mentioning the F8332. Stay tuned for more updates on the rumored Xperia X2.
