Sony is expected to soon launch the Sony Xperia X2 phone, which is rumored to be also called as Sony Xperia XR. Reports claimed that the possible release date of the phone will be happening in September this year at the company's consumer electronics show IFA 2016 in Berlin.

However, a few reports claimed that the new Sony smartphone might also be launched in February 2017, as the device is expected to feature many new specs and features. However, the company has not provided any official update about the probable release date.

As far as the specs of the upcoming Sony Xperia X2 are concerned, Tech Radar reported that it will sport a sleeker and enhanced chassis with curved edges and a huge display. OnLeaks stated that the new phone will consist of a side fingerprint scanner, which is expected to be rooted along with the power button for easy usage.

In terms of display, the upcoming Sony model will consist of a 5.1-inch screen with 1080 pixels resolution. The device will be powered by a Snapdragon processor and will consist of a 3 GB RAM.

According to PC Advisor, the Xperia X2 will also feature a 23-megapixel rear and a 12-megapixel front camera. There are reports that the camera will possess the 4K video recording functionality same as that of the company's another smartphone Sony Xperia Z5 Premium. The specs rumors also hinted that the phone will feature a USB Type-C port, which will enable the users with faster data transfers.

Apart from the release date and specs rumors, the upcoming Sony Xperia X2 phone will reportedly be priced from $550 to $650. The device is expected to be a high-end device, which will be one step further from the Xperia Z5 Premium and thus the users might witness a further increase in the phone's price.
