After its success upon selling 14 million copies across all platforms, EA had confirmed on E3 last June 2016 that a sequel for "Star Wars Battlefront" is under development. Since then, die hard fans have been anticipating for the installment of EA DICE's remake of the FPS game.

Polygon recently reported that EA CFO Blake Jorgensen confirmed the sequel coming "a year from now." This suggests that the game will be released sometime next fall. Although this might be good news for fans, there's still no official announcement from the game's developer.

According to this post by Gamespot, Jorgensen said that it will have "bigger and better worlds" and that it will make use of the content from the "new movies." These translate to improvement of current environment gameplay-wise and some never before scenes which could greatly affect the solo campaign. Since EA DICE already did a good job on their game "Battlefield 1," it is expected that the same level of quality will somehow reflect on "Star Wars Battlefront 2."

In this report of Trusted Reviews, they have enumerated what things they (or fans) would like to see in the sequel. The list focuses on gameplay improvements as well as some things that a fan of "Star Wars" is expecting from the game. Here are the improvements included in the list:

  • Improved solo campaign

  • More weapon and vehicle variety

  • Iron sights

  • The return of space combat

  • Free content updates

New "Star Wars" games

Aside from the much awaited sequel, there are also other incoming "Star Wars" games, some of which are slated for 2018 release. In one of their posts, PC advisor gave some details about the upcoming "Star Wars" games.

As PC advisor reported, EA confirmed that there will be an incoming VR game for Playstation 4 under the theme of "Rouge One" to tie in with the "Star Wars: Rouge One" film which will be shown on theatres this coming December.

Another new "Star Wars" game, as PC advisor mentioned, is coming which as of now has no title. What's known about this game is that it will be made by Visceral Games which is widely known as the producer of the games "Battlefield Hardline" and "Dead Space." It will be a third person game in which the creative director will be Amy Hennig who's known for leading the "Uncharted" series from "Naughty Dog".

Besides the one that will be made by Visceral Games, PC advisor tells us that there is another third person "Star Wars" game that will be made this time by Respawn. EA confirmed this, saying it will be an "all new 3rd person action adventure game set in the Star Wars universe".

Although these upcoming games are enough to give any "Star Wars" fan something to look forward too, all we can do for now is play the waiting game (or "Star Wars Battlefront"). Stay tuned for more news about "Star Wars Battlefront 2" and other games of the colossal franchise.
