Rockstar Games may have sold millions of copies of "Grand Theft Auto V," but fans are still not getting any single player campaign for the game until now.
During Take Two Interactive's earnings report, the publisher has proudly declared that "Grand Theft Auto V" has sold a whopping 70 million units, Forbes reported.
"Grand Theft Auto V" has been raking in the cash since it was released in September 2013. The video game has generated more than $800 million within the first day of its release, and currently holds the Guinness World Record for the "highest revenue generated by an entertainment product in 24 hours."
The game also earned over a billion dollars within the first three days, making it the fastest selling entertainment product in history, according to IGN.
"Grand Theft Auto V" isn't just about sales records and huge earnings. The game is considered one of the best games among the seventh generation of consoles, and has won multiple "Game of the Year" awards.
So with "Grand Theft Auto V"'s smashing retail success, will Rockstar Games finally give the players what they really wanted: a single-player DLC for the game?
In a report by GamesRadar early this year, it looks like Rockstar has no imminent plans of adding single player DLC's to the game, with the developers focusing solely on content for "GTA Online."
In an interview with IGN last year, Rockstar North Director of Design Imran Sarwar said that the key members that launched "Grand Theft Auto V" has now shifted their support to "GTA Online."
"Right now our focus is on GTA Online which has exceeded our expectations," Sarwar confirmed at the time.
It looks like a single-player DLC for "Grand Theft Auto V" is not in the works, so fans should not hold their breath just yet. However, should Rockstar Games consider ever releasing one, then it is sure to rake in more money for them.
Will Rockstar Games change their mind and finally give us a single-player DLC for "Grand Theft Auto V"? Stay tuned for more updates.
