Some fans may wonder how the "Tekken" series has evolved and how it slowly got perfectly geared for eSports. An interview with the man behind it revealed a lot of insights

Katsuhiro Harada's recent interview with Venture Beat tackles how "Tekken 7" and the entire franchise is geared for the eSports scene. To some, the current eSports scene might have a huge impact to what "Tekken" is right now, but before that, there were arcades.

"Before there was esports, there were always tournaments and these kind of fighting games, especially Tekken. And since the game itself was developed with arcade in mind -even from the early days of arcade, there was a switch that only the operators could access -you could turn on an event mode that would make it more suitable to tournaments" Harada told Venture Beat.

Michael Murray, who's also a game designer under Harada, mentioned that "Tekken 7" is the first title that can do high-speed linked game from overseas with other players on the Arcade.

This made it possible for people to watch streamed matches without any trouble, which actually contributes a lot to the eSposts scene for fighting games. Setting up tournaments has never been easier for those who will be playing.

Murray also mentioned that they are looking to providing a fix for certain controls in the game that professional players may mess up due to particular tension that only happens on big stages like EVO or SBO.

This indicates that even though they have watched people play "Tekken 7" on arcades normally, things actually are a bit different with matches held onstage, with hundreds and thousands of people's eyes glued to the participating players.

Murray also emphasized that it is now also easier for the development team to actually roll out fixes as visits to the arcades isn't as necessary as before. YouTube videos have made things more streamlined for them and in exchange, optimize the game well-suited for a fair and well-balanced matches on big-name tournaments and events for eSports.

For those who want to read the entire interview that tackles competitions, slight recession due to emergence of mobile games and more could head over here.

Truly, "Tekken 7" and the rest of the games in the series are now household titles, but actually have a bigger impact in the eSports scene than others that came after it.
