"Teen Wolf" surprised fans at the San Diego Comic-Con on August by announcing that the upcoming sixth season would be the finale for the MTV drama. Fans were even surprised when they learned that Dylan O'Brien got an injury during filming his "Maze Runner: Death Cure" movie, which led to the teen fantasy series' staff removing O'Brien's character, Stiles, for an unknown time. However, looks like everything is fine now as O'Brien's "Teen Wolf" co-star J.R. Bourne revealed in an interview.
After O'Brien was injured filming the third installment of "Maze Runner," many of his fans were concerned about what the injury meant for his "Teen Wolf" career. However, the series' showrunner, Jeff Davis, has confirmed to Entertainment Weekly that O'Brien's fan-favorite character will be returning for the sixth season.
"Stiles is a big part of the season because a lot of this season's mystery revolves around him," Davis told EW. "We're going to see just what Stiles' friendship means to Scott, Lydia, and Malia. We're going to see why exactly he's Scott's best friend, what it means that he's Malia's human anchor, and what his will-they-or-won't-they relationship is with Lydia."
Moreover, O'Brien's co-star J.R. Bourne talked about the actor's injury as well as the ending of the hit MTV drama series on his recent The Wrap interview.
"I think we all feel quite good with how we're ending it," Bourne said. "We've told all these crazy, amazing stories, and I feel really good that we're going out the way we are. But it'll be missed, absolutely."
When the actor was asked about Dylan O'Brien's recovery stage from his accident, the actor said he was doing fine.
"He's doing great. I've tried to let him have his time, but I reached out through text just to let him know that he's in my thoughts," the actor revealed. "But as far as I know, he's doing well."
Now, fans are rest assured that Dylan O'Brien is doing fine after his injury and that he is officially back to "Teen Wolf" which will return to MTV for Season 6 on November.
