On Tuesday, May 8, Sony Mobile Communications announced two new Xperia Android smartphones - Xperia GX and Xperia SX - aimed specifically at the Japanese market. The two smartphones join the Xperia acro HD and Xperia NX, currently two of the best selling smartphones in Japan.
Sony's Xperia GX and Xperia SX will allow users to easily connect with multiple screens such as TVs, laptops or tablets. They represent the first Sony smartphones to launch in Japan feature LTE (long term evolution) capabilities, promising download speeds of up to 75mbps. The smartphones are powered by 1.5GHz dual core processors, Reality Display powered by the Mobile BRAVIAR Engine, full HD video and Sony Exmor R for mobile, which allow for high-quality, bright HD videos and pictures even in low light. When connected to a TV, HD sharing through DLNA and HDMI allows a user to control the smartphone with the TV remote. Moreover, the Xperia GX is capable of delivering a full HD experience on the big screen as well.
Media Apps
The Xperia GX and Xperia SX sum the best of Sony technology, and introduce three new media apps: "Walkman," "Album," and "Movies." The "Walkman" app utilizes high-quality audio technologies such as VPT surround sound, clear stereo and clear bass, manual equalizer and xLOUD, integrating them with new innovative ways to play, discover and share music. The "Album" app integrates new intuitive ways to browse and sort photos and videos, and allows users to instantly view, comment and share photos on social networks and other online albums. The third application, "Movies," streamlines movie viewing and playback, and offers an intelligent database search so users can access more information about the movie.
