Sony Santa Monica may be gearing up for a new "God of War" reveal at this year's Playstation Experience.

The new "God of War" has pretty much taken everyone by surprise when it was revealed at this year's Playstation press conference at the Electronic Entertainment Expo, complete with a full orchestra playing in the background. And now fans just can't wait to find out more about the game.

Sony Santa Monica has skipped major gaming events after that, like Gamescom, Tokyo Game Show and even the Playstation Meeting last month. Director Cory Barlog said that information about "God of War" may not be revealed anytime this year.

When asked on Twitter whether the team will be at Playstation Experience this December, Barlog said, "I don't know, the mountain of work we are under is massive, so we are taking things one day at a time."

At the same time, however, Barlog recently expressed his desire to attend Playstation Experience, but this is something he cannot commit to due to a lot of work which needs to be done.

As for release dates, the "God of War" director said that there are no exact dates planned yet. Due to the high level of interest in the game's development, the team is intending to come up with something like a documentary about the making of "God of War," according to Barlog.

The "God of War" director also asked on Twitter what everyone wants to see in the game's "Special Edition" package. Most Twitter users requested for artbooks, game soundtracks, and even a life-sized Kratos figure. "That would be a very expensive special edition," Barlog responded.

"I think this game is going to have many incredible moments of epic scale that manifest in ways different from previous games," Barlog also said in response to a Twitter fan.

"God of War" is scheduled to be out in 2017. Stay tuned for updates.
