The talk about the much-anticipated "Resident Evil 2" remake became quiet all of a sudden. A number of rumors indicated that Capcom is abandoning the development ship for the game. Could have it been best if the company let InvaderGames do this task one year ago?
The last time that people have heard about the remake being done by Capcom itself was quite some time ago. In fact, searching the Internet regarding an actual update for the game's development progress would only return reports regarding how it went "quiet" all of the sudden.
It could be remembered that PC Gamer once covered a report about Capcom halted the development of a fan-made, albeit well-made and somewhat polished game, "Resident Evil 2 Reborn." It was supposedly the remake that fans have been waiting for so long, but unfortunately, it didn't happen.
We are still without any concrete detail or just about any hint or tease regarding the "Resident Evil 2" remake. Its newest counterpart, "Resident Evil 7," has been getting a lot of attention lately, but no attention is being put to hype the remake that should have happened a year ago.
Instead, InvaderGames, now called Invader Studios, focused on their own horror survival game, which still feel a bit reminiscent of the 90s horror survival games like the original "Resident Evil 2."
The game is called "DaymareL 1998," which was also the year where the original "Resident Evil 2" was released. The game also features multiple "sides" ala RE2 and of course, limited resources, weapon and ammunition.
While we don't have any clear news of the "Resident Evil 2" remake, the least thing that fans can turn to as a fanservice would be "Daymare 1998."
