Good news awaits all "Mafia III" fans. After six years of waiting, fans can soon get their hands on the third installment in the "Mafia" series.
Developed by Hangar 13, the eagerly anticipated action-adventure video game is set for release on Oct. 7 for Xbox One, PlayStation 4, OS X, and Microsoft Windows. The good news came with the first action-packed trailer, giving fans a glimpse of what's in store for "Mafia III."
The two-minute long trailer showed the game's story and the New Bordeaux world. The upcoming game takes place in the late 1960s, where the story intensely revolves around a biracial orphan, Lincoln Clay, who is also a Vietnam-war veteran.
In a press statement obtained by GamesBeat, Hanger 13's Head and Creative Director Haden Blackman said that the reimagined game setting serves as an exceptional and powerful backdrop for Lincoln Clay's story of crime, loyalty, betrayal and vengeance.
"'Mafia III' introduces a truly open world, rich with its own criminal ecosystems to the franchise, while still upholding the strong narrative storytelling and immersive setting that the previous 'Mafia' games are known for," Blackman explained.
With the game's open world design, players can take control of Lincoln Clay, who is on a quest to wage war against the Italian Mafia for the brutal murder of his surrogate family. The three lieutenants' of Lincoln Clay include the Voodoo Queen, Cassandra.
As per Mafia Wikia, the Voodoo Queen is an individual from the Haitian Mob in New Bordeaux. At the point when the leader of the Haitians, Baka, was slaughtered by Lincoln Clay, she assumes control and forms an unlikely alliance with Lincoln.
She is said to be the most savage, sternest, and most mysterious among the three lieutenants. It is believed that the Voodoo Queen will destroy the human trafficking trade in New Bordeaux along with Thomas Burke and Vito Scaletta.
