Nintendo's most awaited title "The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild" has dropped out of the top ten spot on Famitsu's latest most wanted games chart.

The next "Zelda" title barely makes it to the tenth spot on the latest chart. The game only received 241 votes from the Japanese public, which were collated by the publication between Aug. 25-31.

The drop in "Breath of the Wild"'s popularity in Japan may be attributed to Nintendo's continued silence about its final release date, which is rumored to coincide with the launch of its new system, the Nintendo NX.

Square Enix's most anticipated title this year, "Final Fantasy XV," takes the top spot, gaining a whopping 1,150 votes from the Japanese gaming community. It comes as no surprise as the hype is building up towards its Nov. 29 release date.

The same hype can be blamed for the popularity of Atlus' next "Persona" title, "Persona 5," which was released in Japan on Sept. 15. Both the PS4 and PS3 versions made it to the top ten spot.

Despite no solid release dates for both games, "Final Fantasy VII Remake" and "Kingdom Hearts III" continue to be in demand within the Japanese gaming populace, placing at number six and nine, respectively.

The Nintendo 3DS continues to retain its solid spot in the gaming scene in Japan, as three of its games are highly anticipated, like the recently released "Dragon Quest XI," which is also available on the PS4, "Monster Hunter Stories" and the much awaited "Pokémon Sun and Moon."

Other notable drops include "The Last Guardian," which has now been delayed to December, and "World of Final Fantasy," which will be out in October.
