Bandai Namco's newest "Digimon World" game, "Digimon World: Next Order," will be coming to North America in 2017.
Originally released in Japan on PlayStation Vita in March, "Digimon World: Next Order" will be making its way to the West on the Playstation 4 next year, the publisher announced at this year's Tokyo Game Show.
Bandai Namco said that this move was made partially due a signature campaign started by western fans to bring both "Next Order" and "Digimon Story: Cyber Sleuth" to their shores, IGN reported.
The PS4 version will be more than just a straight-up Vita port, however. Bandai Namco said that the PS4 port of "Next Order" will feature "enriched and enhanced" graphics. The game will also be balanced this time around, which means that the PS4 version will be a bit difficult compared to the Vita version, according to Polygon.
The PS4 version will also come with both Japanese and English voice overs, along with new missions and over 200 Digital Monsters. The publisher also said that they are planning to bring twelve new playable Digimon, including IceDevimon, Boltmon and MarineAngemon, Polygon reported.
Unlike "Cyber Sleuth," western fans will only get a digital copy of "Next Order," as Bandai Namco has no plans to release physical copies for the game. The western version will also be a PS4-exclusive, so western fans won't be getting a localized Vita port for this game.
"Digimon World: Next Order" performed brilliantly in Japan during its launch week, selling 64,218 copies and ranking as the secord highest-selling game in the country, only behind "Pokken Tournament," Gematsu reported.
The game also received good reviews from critics, earning a 33 out of 40 score from Japanese publication Weekly Famitsu, based on individual reviews of three 8's and a 9.
More details are expected to come from Bandai Namco's Tokyo Game Show presentation. Stay tuned for more "Digimon World: Next Order" updates.
